Alpine Energy Meetings on Advanced Technology

About

During the Alpine Space Programme 2007-2013, co-funded by the European Regional Development Fund, various projects have been dealing with low–carbon economy, energy efficiency and sustainable mobility. Dozens of enterprises have been involved in these projects and could prove their ability to develop and deploy innovative solutions in the field of energy efficiency and renewable energies as well as sustainable mobility.

What we do

AlpEnMAT fosters innovative technology and provides innovation at the level of cooperation among different sectors and actors for allowing a wider application of innovative energy and mobility technology, thus triggering related positive effects on more balanced territorial and sustainable development, improving the access to energy and information services, creating new labour and growth opportunities, and enhancing the quality of life and competitiveness of the Alpine Space.

Partners

Six Alpine countries and a variety of urban and rural regions are involved. The partnership includes relevant stakeholders from public and private organizations which have a broad network of SMEs and multipliers in the requested fields to ensure a successful preparation and promotion of the ambitious project. Most partners have been involved in different Alpine Space projects before and are familiar with results and organisational processes.

With an innovative and standardized system of events and related marketing means the project will bind together partners from all Alpine Space countries and:

HELP them better promote the products and services they have brought to the projects in period 2007-2013;
SHOW that specific virtues and capabilities of providers, the rich and diversified economic structure and the attractiveness of the Alpine Space itself can be exploited to create a unique promotion scheme for energy and mobility solutions;
CREATE a spirit of togetherness with providers and suppliers of renewable energy and sustainable mobility technologies in the Alpine Space countries;
PROVE that the innovative and portable concept of the AlpEnMAT conferences complements existing promotion schemes and helps less developed territories gain visibility;
STIMULATE and strengthen innovation as well as joint promotion of innovative products.

The sense for invention in the field of sustainable energy and mobility belongs to the cultural heritage of the Alpine Space. Companies in these key economic branches have big business opportunities in international markets. However, these companies are mostly SMEs with low visibility, contacts or market access. They lack information about demands and technical problems abroad. Missing access to latest technological knowhow, limited access to finance resources and little experience to form cross-sectorial and international consortia jeopardize their growth. However, there is little attempt by local decision makers or business developers to join forces with these companies and implement effective regional development and marketing means. Brokerage events or other activities of supporting subjects have no quality assurance and could be organised in a more effective way. Not to speak about missing cooperation with tourism and technology marketing. Dozens of enterprises have been involved in AS projects and could prove their ability to develop and deploy innovative solutions in the field of energy efficiency and renewable energies as well as sustainable mobility.

The aim of the AlpEnMAT Project is to foster innovative SMEs in the Alpine Space to take benefit of the emerging age of renewable energies, bringing them together with buyers of technologies, municipalities and regions, institutional and private decision makers as well as public and private financing institutions.
